  6. Our Langtang Gosainkund Helambu Trek begins with a 132km 7-8 hour bus ride from Kathmandu that follows the torturous and scenically exciting road to cross the Dhotre Khola, before turning north up the Trisuli Nadi to Syabru Besi the starting point of the trek.

The Langtang Helambu trek section passes through forests of oak, rhododendron and then bamboo along the Langtang Khola to Kyanjin Gompa. This is a Sherpa village and an ideal place to experience the spiritual lifestyle of these Buddhist people: their monastery is 700 years old.

From here, an early morning hike up Tserko Ri (4 984m/16 352ft) offers tremendous panoramic views of the High Himalaya, including Langtang Lirung (7227m/23 712ft) and the foot of one of its glaciers. A traditional cheese factory in the village welcomes visitors.

The route then returns to the Lama Hotel before branching southwards to Thulo Syabru (Big Syabru). Then to Chandan Bari also known as Shin Gompa with magnificent views of Ganesh Himal (7422m/24 351ft) to the North West on the border with Tibet and Langtang II (6 596m/21 641ft) in the North East.

Next is the walk to Laurebina and on to Gosainkund. Watch the sun rise over the numerous glistening lakes: believed to have been created by Lord Shiva after striking the rock with his trident. This is an important pilgrimage site for both Buddhists and Hindus.

The Gosaikunda trekking trail then passes over the Laurebina La (4 609m/15 121ft) and descends gradually into the Helambu Valley with its terraced farmlands and rice paddies. The scenery is softer with views of the Dorje Lakpa and Jugal Himal ranges. Numerous Buddhist monasteries dot the countryside around the villages of Kutumsang, Chisopani and the large Tamang village of Mulkharka. From Sundarijal, a short one hour drive takes you back to your Hotel in Kathmandu.

Sturdy boots, warm/waterproof clothing, a good sleeping bag, day pack camera sunscreen and hat are essential items.

Our Langtang Gosaikunda trekking package includes transport, local porters, meals, tea house accommodation and safe drinking water.Spring (March - May) and autumn (September - November) are the best months to trek, but we offer this trek in all four seasons.

  7. We have special offer. Have you done this trek? Don’t miss…..
Annapurna Base Camp Trek is scenically the most spectacular trek we offer in the Annapurna region. The view of the range from Pokhara is the view that will tower above you from the base camp. It follows the course of the Modi Khola up the gorge cut by river from the Annapurna South glacier and leads to a spectacular basin whose walls are formed by the ring of glacial peaks of the main range with the dramatic Machhapuchhare on the right flank.
The climax of the ABC trek is reached in the spectacular Annapurna Sanctuary amphitheatre where you will first pass the Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail) Base Camp (3700m) en route to ABC (4130m). Here you are surrounded by an immense and breathtaking wall of rock and ice reaching heights from 6500 – 8091m and dramatised by closer rocky outcrops rising above the U-shaped valley gouged out by glacier. Cloud frequently forms in the late morning making for enticing glimpses of an ever changing landscape: at sunrise it is frequently still and clear offering viewers / photographers a surfeit of possibilities.
Spring (March - May) and autumn (September - November) are the most popular seasons, but we can offer this trek throughout the year;Teahouse accommodation is plentiful and a variety of Nepali, Tibetan, Indian and Continental dishes are readily available.
